Our
Story
How did we get here
Sunflour Breadery was born from resilience, passion, and the healing power of baking.
ā
In 2024, my brother-in-law gifted me a small jar of flour and water, and kickstarted my sourdough journey. Little did I know, this is what would carry me through one of the most challenging chapters of my life.
ā
January 2025, I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. In just a quick four weeks, I would learn my diagnosis, undergo brain surgery, and begin treatment with immunotherapy. During this time, I struggled to find meaning, purpose, and routine in my day-to-day life.

I learned to lean on family, friends, and sourdough. I found strength in my dough, and myself, through the slow, meditative process of shaping boules and batards.

What began as a hobby, soon grew into something more: a way to share connection and give thanks through hand-crafted loaves. Every sourdough creation is made with patience, humility, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
